I am running for State Representative to work towards Increasing the amount of Affordable Housing, Improving Access to Livable Wages, and Supporting local Safer Neighborhood programs.
I am the Financial Manager for a local business. I was raised and live in Snohomish County. I have been an activist for public transit most of my life, have served as the chair on the Citizens Advisory Committee for Community Transit, and testified in Olympia about inter-transit authority cooperation.
Increasing the Amount of Affordable Housing Snohomish County has experienced explosive growth, particularly within the 44th. This has led to a shortage of Affordable Housing within our district. I intend to focus on programs that provide shelter and more affordable housing to everyone, programs like the “Housing First” model and the Snohomish County Tomorrow housing plan.
Improving Access to Livable Wages The commute that used to take 20 minutes now routinely takes over and hour. To improve our daily commute to get to these livable wages, It is going to take a coordinated effort that includes road improvements, more access to public transportation, and activity seeking alternatives to the daily commute.
Supporting Safer Neighborhoods The Snohomish Police Department recently reported that a main cause of the increase in property crimes is the increase of heroin usage in our neighborhoods. We need to find ways to address this opioid epidemic in our communities as a health issue and not just a police issue. By addressing the cause and not just the symptoms, we are building safer local neighborhoods for the long term.
Listening to your Concerns about the issues affecting your everyday life and being your advocate at the state level is the most important responsibility I could have.
For the kind of changes in Olympia that will help improve
your daily life,
